Industry Research Collaboration of the Year

Many congratulations to Professor Maria Sousa Gallagher, Process and Chemical Engineering and to Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines who were awarded the Industry Research Collaboration of the Year at the recent 2025 ¸£Àû1000ÔÚÏß College Cork (UCC) Research and Innovation Awards, held at the Lewis Glucksman Gallery on Wednesday, May 27th.

STEPS Engineering Your Future Transition Year Programme 2026

Dr Paraic Ryan and Claudia Cashman co-hosted the annual TY Engineering Your Future Programme at UCC this May, in collaboration with Engineers Ireland's STEPS initiative. Over three days, 30 students from 24 schools across Munster took part in a packed programme of hands-on activities — from bridge building and breaking to circuit design, wave tank testing, and liquid nitrogen ice cream making. A huge thanks to Kate Cannon at Engineers Ireland and to Alexander Jager, Francis Judge, and Vivek Verma and Paraic Ryan for running such engaging sessions, with photography by Ralph O'Flaherty and video creation by Quinton Kelly.

School Professor Awarded the Qualcomm Certificate of Recognition

Congratulations to Professor Emanuel Popovici, Electrical and Electronic Engineering who was recently awarded the Qualcomm Certificate of Recognition for his exceptional educational project demonstrated at the ¸£Àû1000ÔÚÏß Platform Symposium in April.  The project was Project Lucy: Integrating AI in Assistive Technologies.
